    Aims of The Crabtree Society

The Crabtree Society was formed in year 2000 to acknowledge the importance Crabtree Electrical Industries had been to Walsall in its 80 years association with the town. In 1999 Crabtree's head office and factory named Lincoln Works was demolished and shortly after all manufacturing sites in the Walsall and Brownhills area were closed.

The aims of the society are to provide a social forum for its members who are mainly ex-employees and their friends, to maintain the archives of the company and to publish a book on the history of the company. The book was actually launched on the 24th May 2012.

Membership of the Society would appeal to employees and ex-employees of the company, and also local people interested in local history and manufacturing. The Society has an active programme of social gatherings and at least two outings to places of interest usually within a 60 mile radius of Walsall.

Anyone wishing to join the Society can do so by downloading an application form from here.
