The Crabtree Society was formed in year 2000 to acknowledge the importance Crabtree Electrical Industries had been to Walsall in its 80 years association with the town. In 1999 Crabtree's head office and factory named Lincoln Works was demolished and shortly after all manufacturing sites in the Walsall and Brownhills area were closed.

The aims of the society were to provide a social forum for its members who are mainly ex-employees and their friends, to maintain the archives of the company and to publish a book on the history of the company. The book was actually launched on the 24th May 2012.

Membership of the Society appealed to employees and ex-employees of the company, and local people interested in local history and manufacturing. The Society had an active programme of social gatherings and at least two outings to places of interest usually within a 60 mile radius of Walsall took place every year.

The Crabtree Society ceased to organise regular trips and events in October 2022, but will arrange yearly events starting with a Christmas Party in December 2022. After thet who knows what the future holds?
